Los Angeles, CA - February 9, 2010 – As Bon Jovi prepares for its biggest tour yet, the band announced that they are looking for fans across the globe to share in the limelight. Bon Jovi fans worldwide can now upload a video of themselves performing the band's smash 1986 hit "Livin' On A Prayer." The best performances from each city will be chosen to be featured on the local venue's giant video screens, while the band is on stage playing the song. This special moment will spotlight videos from several different fans in each city during The Circle Tour, which includes more than 135 shows in 30 countries. In addition to seeing themselves jam on the big screen with Bon Jovi, the official single winners in each market will receive a deluxe prize package featuring an exclusive VIP messenger bag filled with limited edition tour souvenirs and other commemorative items.
To learn more, visit the official "Livin' On a Prayer" Website at http://prayer.bonjovi.com. Currently featured on the site is a special invitation from Jon Bon Jovi on how you can be part of the show. There, you will get instructions on how to create the best video and share the screen with Jon and the band. The rock legends are looking for videos that tell them as much about the contestants as possible. This incredible opportunity is about an entertaining performance, not just about how well entrants can sing.
"Livin' On A Prayer" also recently received a special honor when Bon Jovi made their first ever GRAMMY performance at last month's awards show. The band performed "We Weren't Born to Follow" from their latest album The Circle, and then reunited with Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland for their 2006 hit "Who Says You Can't Go Home." Next, for the first time in GRAMMY telecast history, fans had an opportunity to decide a song played as part of the band's performance. "Livin' on a Prayer" was the #1 song that Bon Jovi fans wanted to hear. The band was also nominated for Best Pop Performance By a Duo or Group with Vocals for "We Weren't Born To Follow."
The band's 11th studio album, The Circle, debuted at #1 in numerous countries including the U.S., Canada and Japan, with Top 5 debuts throughout Europe and the UK. Globally, the Grammy Award-winning band has sold more than 120 million albums, and performed more than 2,600 concerts in over 50 countries for more than 34 million fans. Bon Jovi's previous run, the hugely successful 2008 the "Lost Highway Tour," was Billboard's top-grossing tour of the year.
Bon Jovi's show-stopping video for "Superman Tonight" premiered on VEVO.com on Wednesday, February 3, followed by the clip's broadcast premiere on VH1 on Saturday, February 6.
