Accepting the prestigious honour of being one of five stadiums chosen for the games, Rogers Centre is in full baseball mode from SATURDAY, MARCH 7 until WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11. The first game is set for 2:00 p.m. when TEAM CANADA and TEAM USA rekindle their rivalry.
Four teams compete in games at Rogers Centre including TEAM CANADA, TEAM USA, TEAM ITALY and TEAM VENEZUELA. Neck and neck in the point standings, JAMES STEWART and CHAD REED are giving MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS fans a 2009 season of nail-biting and dramatic racing. Halfway through the season, these titans of the track are divided by only four points. Both will have to work extra hard in Toronto to claim the champion's title and number one overall position.

Entering the second half of the season, every point counts more than ever and STEWART knows the importance of maintaining focus. Confident in his outstanding abilities and his new ride, the YAMAHA YZ 450F, STEWART is prepared for the twists and turns of Toronto’s custom built track.
The track is one of six that have been designed by AMA SUPERCROSS legends for the 2009 races. This original creation by JEFF STANTON, a world-renowned racer and three-time AMA SUPERCROSS champion, is designed to test the limits of each rider and challenge their skill and speed across the finish line.
REED, the 2008 AMA SUPERCROSS champion, stormed out of the starting line to open the season. A determined STEWART has since taken over the top spot on the leader board. | Yuvan makes North American debut at Rogers Centre |
Young, inventive and the creator of a new hip-hop style in Tamil music, YUVAN SHANKAR RAJA is the mastermind behind the bold music sweeping Kollywood. Already the creative musical force behind more than 60 Tamil movies, this talented and charismatic performer brings his award-winning sound to Rogers Centre for his first ever North American live performance presented by Platinum Promotions Inc. An evening of songs, dance and unique beats are unveiled with YUVAN LIVE 2009 on SATURDAY, APRIL 25 at 6:30 p.m.
The youngest son of a celebrated and musical family, Yuvan was transfixed by Tamil music at a young age. Following in the footsteps of “isaignani” ILAIYARAAJA, his music prodigy father, Yuvan immediately embraced film composition finding ways to make it modern and youthful. Known to incorporate hip-hop beats and English lyrics with the traditional piano and guitar sound, Yuvan took great pleasure in stretching boundaries by adding computer generated remixes. His sound resonated with young listeners and has transformed him into a youth icon of Tamil film music.
This acclaimed musician will perform 30 of his most popular songs as he is joined on stage by his father Ilayaraja and a host of celebrated singers and movie stars. Choreographed dances bring a visual flair to the evening.
Tickets will soon be on-sale via all Ticketmaster distribution channels. Please check the website regularly for updated information.
