Date set for OFSAA BIlls Toronto Series Football Bowls

Frontenac defense helps secuire
back-to-back title in 2008

Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) is pleased the annouce the date for the OFSAA Bills Toronto Series Football Bowls set to be played on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Rogers Centre in downtown Toronto. OFSAA is proud to be in partnership with the Bills Toronto Series which hosts the regular season NFL game between the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets on December 3, 2009.

"Playing these games in an NFL environment, complete with NFL alumni on site, is an incredible experience for Ontario high school football players. The support of the Bills Toronto Series has enabled us to gather all of our regional finalists in one place for an amazing day of football. Our players aspire to get to Rogers Centre and are treated like pros when they arrive. This is having a very positive impact on high school football in our province," said Doug Gellatly, OFSAA's executive director.

"We are proud to support Ontario's high school football players and to help them become part of the NFL experience in Toronto," said Anthony Antonelli, Senior Director, Bills Toronto Series. "Creating a rich football atmosphere and strengthening the grassroots of the sport in Canada are goals we share with the NFL and are efforts that the Bills Toronto Series is committed to long term."

OFSAA Bills Toronto Series Football Bowls Schedule (tentative):
Northern Bowl starting at 9:00 a.m.
Golden Horseshoe Bowl starting at 11:45 a.m.
National Capital Bowl starting at 2:30 p.m.
Western Bowl starting at 5:15 p.m.
Metro Bowl starting at 8:00 p.m.

In 2008, champions regained their crowns while others held on with a tight grip. The Western Bowl was won by Resurrection High School; a frist for the school in the last eight years. The Northern Bowl was won by St. Mary's, their fifth title in the last seven years. The National Capital Bowl was won by Frontenac. This was the second time they claimed back-to-back titles (2007-2008 & 2001-2002). The Golden Horseshoe Bowl was won by Lakeshore Catholic. Their last title was won in 2003. Finally, in the 27th Annual Metro Bowl, St. Mike's ran away with their third consecutive title.
