BON JOVI KEEP THE FAITH WITH NEW WORLDWIDE TOUR

Bon Jovi wants you to join The Circle World Tour

Summer 2010 may seem like a distant dream, but for BON JOVI fans, it is already a summertime to remember. The top touring act in the world for 2008 have released a new album, THE CIRCLE, and rolled out a new worldwide tour that will keep rocking for two years and make a stop at Rogers Centre. On TUESDAY, JULY 20, 2010, Rogers Centre will have the roof rocked right off as THE CIRCLE WORLD TOUR takes over the stadium.

The big guitar hooks, big sound and big hair that launched BON JOVI in the early ‘80s became the start of something that has grown for more than 25 years. Eleven studio albums, Grammy awards aplenty and record sales that top more than 120 million, the hair may be shorter but the band continues to rock out and gain new fans with each album and tour.

Set for a November 10, 2009 release, the latest BON JOVI album THE CIRCLE has fans buzzing with the new single “We Weren’t Born To Follow.” Another classic BON JOVI anthem that reflects on the current economic times while maintaining a positive message, “We Weren’t Born To Follow” is the first of 12 hot tracks off the new album.

Announcing the tour in true BON JOVI style, the band performed in their native New Jersey for a select group of 5,000 lucky contest winners, fan club members and on-site construction workers. After a rousing performance, the band announced their plans for THE CIRCLE WORLD TOUR and also announced that Rogers Centre was the stadium of choice for their Toronto stop.

With their strong fan base, love of performing and catchy songs that have spanned decades, BON JOVI are guaranteed to rock Rogers Centre when they arrive in 2010.

Tickets for the event will be on sale soon at all Ticketmaster Outlets, including Rogers Centre - Gate 7, online and via phone at 416-870-8000.

RETURNING TO ROCK IN 2010!

U2 return for another boot-shaking night

They came, they conquered and all while performing under the open sky! U2 put on two live shows in September that captivated fans and had them talking non-stop about the full-capacity stadium. Now fans have even more to talk about since U2 announced a return engagement to Rogers Centre. For one night only, on SATURDAY, JULY 3, 2010 at 7:00 p.m., the wildly successful 360° TOUR arrives for another mega performance.

Touring in support of their latest album NO LINE ON THE HORIZON, which made its debut at No. 1 on THE BILLBOARD 200, these Irish legends have continued to show why they are the heavyweights of the music industry. The September shows, which included a dramatic 164-ft claw and a set-up that allowed fans full views at every angle thanks to a circular stage, had the band sprinting around on ramps to get closer to fans and giving 150% energy to their set. Digging into their immense repertoire, U2 dominated the night with new songs like “No Line on the Horizon,” “Get on Your Boots” and “Magnificent” and classics such as “Sunday, Bloody, Sunday,” “Ultraviolet” and “With or Without You.”

No strangers to stadium tours, BONO, THE EDGE, ADAM CLAYTON and LARRY MULLEN JR. performed with ease and enthusiasm well into the mild evening. For the second time in history, Rogers Centre opened its innovative roof which added an additional spark of magic to an already monumental evening.

For those who missed the experience in 2009 and those who want to re-live the concert, U2 return next summer for a show that will be as big and bold as their first visit.

Tickets are on-sale November 2 and priced at $32.00; $57.00, $97.00 and $252.00 at all Ticketmaster outlets, including Rogers Centre - Gate 7, charge by phone at 416-870-8000 or or online.

LAST CHANCE TO SEE THE ARGOS IN ACTION!

Come out for the last game of the season!

One final game in the 2009 season to go and the TORONTO ARGONAUTS plan to end on a high note. Once again, THE BOATMEN take on division rivals and the top-ranked MONTREAL ALOUETTES for a game that is sure to embody passion and power. This final season game takes place at Rogers Centre on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7 at 1:00 p.m.

Despite heart and hope, the 2009 season has not lived up to the ARGOS expectations. A slew of injuries, inconsistent officiating and problems with both offense and defense have left the ARGOS without a playoff spot.

However, with one final game to play, the ARGOS will fight to the end against the ALOUETTES and give fans a rousing finish to 2009. Standout performances by running back JAMAL ROBERTSON and defensive tackle KEVIN HUNTLEY, have been a bright spot in the ARGOS line-up and fans will be keeping an eye on these two, both on Saturday and further on down the road.

Bring your support and cheer the ARGOS onto a win in their final game this SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7!

Single tickets are on-sale via all Ticketmaster outlets, including Rogers Centre - Gate 7, charge by phone at 416-870-8000 or online.

SUMMER SIZZLED FOR LUCKY CONTEST WINNERS!

Enjoying a room with a view

It was definitely a summer to remember for Leslie and her family. When her son broke his hand in the beginning of June, it put a bit of a damper on the rest of the summer. Active in Tae Kwon Do, soccer and golf, Leslie’s son was still on the go, but not to the fullest extent that he had planned.

Both a subscriber to Rogers Centre newsletter and also checking updates on the website, Leslie came across one of the hot summer Rogers Centre contests and took the opportunity to enter. She put in her online entry a few days before the contest closed and was completely surprised when she got the call that she was the winner.

“It totally blew me away that I’d won,” said Leslie. “It made the rest of the summer a whole lot nicer since my son had to cut back on his activities because of his broken hand and now we had this great experience to look forward to.”

Winning an overnight stay in a bi-level suite at the Renaissance Toronto Hotel Downtown for Saturday August 22, 2009, Leslie and her family had more than just a chance to have a luxurious night out. The bi-suite also overlooked Rogers Centre field and with the Toronto Blue Jays playing the Los Angeles Angels, the family could watch the game from the comfort of their room. Also Included in the weekend prize was brunch at the hotel restaurant Arriba and a Rogers Centre Tour.

The family of three invited a friend of their son to join them for the weekend and everyone counted down until the end of August. The wait flew by quickly and soon the winners were enjoying a sunny weekend in downtown Toronto at the Renaissance.

“The room was amazing,” said Leslie. “Watching the game from our room felt like we were watching it on a big screen TV and then the next morning we had a great brunch at Arriba and took the stadium tour.”

Not only did the weekend bring summer to a successful close to Leslie and her family, the additional prize of a round trip on Via Rail Business class for two people to travel between the Windsor, Quebec City Corridor was especially touching.

Having family in Montreal and visiting them about four times a year, the opportunity to take the train closer to Christmas when winter weather sets in, gives Leslie and her family a stress-free travel option to visit those near and dear.

“We haven’t taken the train since our son was little,” said Leslie. “We are definitely going to visit before Christmas and this will be a great way to travel.”

Adding sizzle to the summer, visit Rogers Centre website regularly to see what the stadium does to create a wonderful winter! Keep checking for other great contest opportunities throughout the year.
